As many of you know we at The Treasure Chest are very Eco-conscious, and we are always looking for things to do that help our environment. Our new candle making service is our latest addition to protecting it.

We love candles, and we know that basically, everyone loves candles! As such, one can safely assume that candles will remain the go-to gifting choice for many of us. However, this doesn’t mean that gifting candles has to be a stale affair. You can make your gift stand out by not buying mass-produced, mainstream candles and instead look for one of a kind vintage items that you can up-cycle into a candle.

Maybe you have some vintage tea cups and glassware that you never use, and are just taking space sitting in boxes or in an showcase for decades? Were they a gift from a loved one and you holding onto to them for sentimental reasons? Or you bought them decades ago, maybe used them once, and never again?  

Well, we have just the thing to inspire you to take your pretty pieces of porcelain and glass out of storage and into the light!

We have now added a candle making serice to our business, and one of the services we offer is for you to use your own suitable vintage items and upcycle them into candles that can be used all year round.

The introduction of our new candle manufacturing service, means that we can now transform your teacups, coffee mugs, and even gravy boats, sugar bowls and one of a kind glassware into delightful, Eco-friendly scented candles to enjoy in any room of your home. They also make heartwarming and melting gifts that loved ones can enjoy year-round.

How it works

• Book an up-cycle consultation with us to discuss what you'd like to transform into candles.
• We do a minimum of 4 suitable scented or unscented vintage vessels per order. 
• If you not in the West Algarve area and can’t come to our studio, we can still advise you, including on how to pack and ship your items to us in Lagos (you get full instructions). 
• Once your candles are made, we ship your up-cycled candles back to you, ready to make memories and for you to enjoy!
